Improve QR Code Desk-Booking Error Messages and Booking Logic
Currently, the system displays a generic error message when a user scans a QR code to book a workspace but already has an active booking. This creates confusion and leads to unnecessary support tickets, as the message looks like a technical fault and provides no clear guidance.
Current Situation:
User scans a QR code to book a workspace.
If an active booking already exists, a generic error message appears without explanation or options.
Problem:
Users do not understand why the booking fails.
No clear instructions or alternatives are provided → frustration and increased support workload.
Proposed Enhancement:
Preferred Solution:
Display a message with actionable options:
“You already have an active booking. Would you like to cancel your existing booking and proceed with this one?”
→ Include buttons: Cancel Existing & Book New or Keep Current Booking.
Minimum Improvement:
Display a clear message:
“You have an active booking. Please cancel it before booking a new one.”
Expected Benefits:
Improved user experience and transparency.
Reduced support tickets caused by unclear error messages.
Aligns with best practices for intuitive booking workflows, especially for global QR code rollout.
