improve Outlook Calendar Integration for Desk Bookings
Description:
Currently, when a desk booking is made in Eptura/Condeco, an Outlook calendar event is created through the ICS attachment. While disabling the ICS attachment prevents calendar entries from being created, it also removes the booking event entirely from the user's calendar.
We would like to request an enhancement where desk booking confirmations can appear as an "All-day" informational banner/event at the top of the Outlook calendar, rather than as a time-blocking meeting/event within the user's schedule.
Business Benefit:
Users can still see their desk booking details in Outlook.
The booking does not block calendar availability or appear as a meeting.
Improves user experience and calendar visibility.
Reduces the need to disable ICS attachments entirely.
Proposed Enhancement: Provide a configurable option that allows administrators to choose how booking confirmations are added to Outlook calendars:
Standard calendar event (current behavior)
All-day informational event/banner
Non-blocking calendar entry (Free status)
No calendar event
This would provide greater flexibility for organizations and improve calendar management for end users.
Use Case: Employees want visibility of their desk reservations in Outlook without those reservations occupying calendar time slots or affecting availability status.
Thank you for considering this enhancement.
