interactive floorplan
Coming from Workplace, the floorplan experience in Engage feels very dated, and a low end product. Workplace has the interactive CAD based floorplans that allow users to search locations, ping desks or rooms, and reserve spaces directly from both the floorplan and calendar views.
In Engage, we are currently limited to uploading PDFs and manually placing dots for conference rooms, offices, and workstations. This is very time consuming and not practical for larger environments.
During our live training/testing session, we also found out that the PDFs we uploaded and spent time configuring were too large to work well in the reservation experience. It would be helpful if there were upload size limits, warnings, or recommendations before customers spend time setting everything up.
Some future improvements that would make a big difference:
Interactive/CAD-based floorplans
Searchable floorplans
Ability to reserve directly from the map view
Better performance for larger floorplans
Upload warnings or file size guidance for PDFs
Less manual setup for placing locations on maps
Overall, the current floorplan setup feels outdated and does not match the image we have associated with Eptura. In my mind an easy answer already exists as the interactive floorplans are in Workplace. If not perfect for Engage those features in Workplace advance Engage to a real robust platform that can continue to be improved upon.
