  1. In several instances the system displays the Error: Cannot read property 'message' of null; rather than redirecting the user to the Login Screen after a session timeout (of clearing your cache in a different browser window).
This, along with the typical timeout occurring, produces unexpected results when logging back in. This was reported as a bug but were told:

The system does not inform the user that the session is approaching timeout or that the session ended. Sadly, that is is the limitation of the current design.

  2. When using the hoteling features, it would be great to have an ICS file generated for the calendars so that employees at a company can tell where they need to be by going into the one place they all tend to use which is the exchange calendars. They can be set as the availability of 'Free'/'Working Elsewhere' so it doesn't prevent others from trying to book colleagues to a meeting as well.

This would be great if it is a configuration option in hoteling.

  3. Multiple tables have a need to be archived as data grows in size, particularly the captured Metrics for trends, (afmmetrictrend_values) , notifications log, and data event logs. When there is no auto archive process integrated, an archiving console could be provided that will allow the user to determine
    a. the table to be archived
    b. whole or partial archive
    c. date or pkey (or other criteria) for archiving a partial data set
    d. merge to existing historical table or create a new historical table

The process would then use these options to remove records from the data table…

  4. A lot of clients overtime have customized reports like what they originally see in archibus, For example a maintenance history report or a invoice list and go and include fields that exist in the schema to these list style reports. While a lot of consoles now have the ability to pick available fields in many areas, it's not always pointing to the fields that clients need to use to make business decisions or have the kind of audit logging process they need. It would be nice to have what report central has where all fields in a used table and…

  5. Sometimes due to unexpected events, we must do some quick maintenance / reset,..
The possibility to send messages to the logged-on users would really be a big plus.

  6. Let's say during your internet browsing window, you are in the Space console, where you have already opened up a floor plan, and certain highlights and mid way modifying some data when you realize you need to switch to another view. It would be great if the framework doesn't lose that view when switching so if you can go to another area, say the define locations, then switch back to the say the first view without having to reapply all the setting options.

  7. Many other online tools have an html wysiwyg preview that enables the ability of generating a formatted email with a background, headers, images, and links. It would be great if Archibus can display what are the available dynamic links and dynamic values.

For example it would be great to be able to format emails for the purposes of:
    - hoteling
    - reservations
    - work requests
    - return agile notifications / contact tracing
    - emergency/incident management

  8. Using the SaaS product, we've been provided with a security key to be able to upload files via sftp for connector processing.

When configuring a connector, in order to read a file from the sftp server, we are required to convert the pem to ppk and then upload the ppk to the /transfer-to folder to have it placed on the server.

As this is controlled by the SpaceIQ/Archibus team, it would be very helpful for the SaaS team to pre-place a ppk file for sftp connections as well as have documentation for the required connector parameters to read the file.

  9. The ability for metrics to send notification is a good thing but it's very cumberstone to manage since the administrator has to pick and choose who exactly is to be notified when a trigger is met. It would be more efficient for the system to have the ability to use SQL statements to find emails based on a criteria. For example the following types of notifications would really benefit in these use cases:

    1. Project team notification use case - setup a SQL statement to find emails from the team table where it's tied to a project met in the metric…

  10. With Accessibility being added to the application, it should be on by default and not even a configuration parameter.

Having to debug issues with it on and off adds considerable time to implementation for both the consumers and for ARCHIBUS. Having to support only one development stream is in everyone's best interest.

Its 2021, accessibility should just be there and there really isn't a valid reason why someone should want to turn it off.

  11. The empty schema database that ships with ARCHIBUS should only have the bare essential users (AFM, SYSTEM, GUEST) and roles to get the application running.

If you feel like the large volume of users & roles are needed, it should still be empty, but perhaps a task under system admin can be run to generate those users and roles.

  12. Upon creating a User Defined Field, the system generates the field to be at the bottom of the list under 'Other Details'. There is currently no way available for users/administrators to re-order the field from within the UI and requires an update to the view files directly.

Having the ability to change the order UDF's display at least within the 'Other Details' section would be very helpful for end-users.

  14. It appears as though even the newest versions of ARCHIBUS are shipping with an SFTP .jar/library for use with the connectors which is no longer supported by a number of SFTP hosts as it is out of date.

The current edtftpj-pro.jar file appears to have been procured from the third part vendor enterprisedt.com and is version 5.2.4 which was released back in 2017. There have been 10 subsequent releases with the latest being v7.1.0.

SFTP based export connectors are no longer usable without work arounds for a number of clients as a result.

  15. Streamline the process of publishing a site or a campus CAD plan to be used as a navigation tool to select a building. For example, in workplace, when you clikc on the building icon you will have a site plan opened to select a building.

  16. The sync performance on the maintenance module of the Mobile app is utterly awful. Its not clear to the user if its carrying out a full background data sync or just partial sync of updating information. it seems to sync so many variables/field/tables which are not in use, updated, or effected by the data to sync. The end user experience is really bad. This MUST be made better and more seamless to the end user.

  17. Provide users with the ability to opt-out of email notifications from the ARCHIBUS application. Ideally, they would be able to opt-out of notifications at the module level. In addition, providing System Admins with the ability to classify notifications that users can opt-out of and ones that they will always receive. For instance, a user may wish to opt-out of Building Operations notifications, while the System Admin wants to make sure that they do not opt-out of the password reset emails. It would be nice for a future release to have the ability to allow users to opt-out of notifications.

  18. We are seeing more RFPs with a requirement for a cloud/hosted solution with MFA. We can implement this if the customer wants SAML and rely on the customer's MFA capability, but otherwise we have a gap in our solution. It would be helpful if the standard Archibus solution either contained MFA capability out of the box or easily integrated with a service provider. I believe we are going to see this requirement a lot more in the near future for any cloud deployments.

  19. Clients upgrade every 18-36 months. Issue patches that are backward compatible for items that are fixed in the next release(s). Backward compatibility for 2 full versions would be ideal. As continuous upgrades are not a solution for on-prem enterprise long term clients.

And example: Workplace IIS SSO is fixed in v25.2 but a fix is not available for v25.1.

  20. We ask the possibility to remove the commas in a file name automatically when a user uploads a new document with commas in the file name or the possibility to implement a check to avoid the uploading of a file containing comma/s in its name.
