Alternative employee search options
Searching by name is sometimes problematic when people’s official name is different from the name they are known by or used in their email address. To avoid this frustration I typically search for people using their e-mail address. Could we search for people by name, email address ?

It would also be useful to search by an alias or an alternate name. For example my formal name is Kathryn (which is reflected in the People file from our HR system) but I go and am known as Kate. So unless my last name was entered I would not be found. This is rather common for example Chris vs Christopher. This would also assist where staff from non English backgrounds go by a different name.
The alias could either by provided in the people file or possibly a self-service function for people to update directly.Happy to raise as a separate issue if required.

As Alison stated, the ability to search by name, email, user ID and employee # across all modules would be incredibly useful. We have users who have up to four different emails/ID's, the ability to search by name only is not sufficient.
